MATURE AGE

Did you know that there are a decreasing number of young people ready to enter employment in Australia? We have an ageing population and the impacts are starting to be felt at a recruitment level. There are many government and employer initiatives to encourage adults to retrain and gain new qualifications and for older people to remain in the workforce for longer. There is also legislation to prevent discrimination. Even graduate recruitment programs run by major employers are no longer the exclusive domain of the young and some employers are actively rebalancing their workforces with the recruitment of more mature entrants. So don't be deterred because of your age. The future for older career changers has never looked brighter.
Over a number of years, CGH has worked with executives and senior managers and mature age clients from both industry and government, to help redirect and strengthen their careers.

The ‘career rut’ syndrome can emerge unexpectedly and swiftly, with a variety of causes – most out of the individual’s control. It is in these circumstances it can be time to assess your career options and the best direction to take with your career.

By applying our career transition processes, we will work with you to gain a full understanding of your skills, and how and where to market them. This process has the added benefit of building confidence while reducing anxiety.

We will work with you to create an impressive, professional résumé, career summary and letters. We will connect you with relevant search and recruiting networks, and complement this with skills training in the interview process.

Our extensive knowledge of the executive employment market will provide you with proven techniques and processes of immense value. In fact, we can almost guarantee you will have little or no awareness regarding much of this information.

Most executive positions and many mature age opportunities are unadvertised or ‘hidden’. The process of networking into these opportunities is well understood but must be handled sensitively and effectively. CGH will work with you to ensure this is the case, using the right processes – especially if you are currently employed and naturally don’t wish to jeopardise that employment. We will show you how to find more rewarding opportunities elsewhere.
